Prairie View Elementary has been awarded the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program grant this school year! Students will receive a free fresh fruit or vegetable snack in the afternoon, four days per week. Teachers will provide nutrition education activities in the classroom to increase students’ knowledge of the health benefits of eating fruits and vegetables. We are excited to introduce our students to a variety of unique fruits and vegetables this school year! #FFVP #NESchoolMealsRock

At the October OPSD School Board meeting, the board honored 3 model students and one dedicated educator! These students & staff have shown what it means to do things “The OG Way.” They are risk-takers in and out of the classroom, show grit in all they do, and take ownership of their learning. We are so proud of our October students of the month, Kaleena Schmittler (elementary), Lou Menotti (middle grades), Charlie Nielsen (high school), and teacher of the month, Jennie Coggins! In lieu of the OHS Homecoming Parade, a pep rally was held at Prairie View Schools on Friday, October 13th. Students K-12 were able to attend and enjoy all the school spirit! The gym was roaring with cheering and laughter! Also in attendance were Dennis Quinn and Barb Macomber, the Wel-Life royalty. #CultureOfConfidence

Mrs. Mayden's English I students have been studying a unit of "What does it take to survive a crisis?". They have read many short stories and are now reading Lord of the Flies. They were challenged to build survival shelters with what they could find outside. They rose to the challenge and showed that STEM and Language Arts work together. #CultureOfConfidence

OMG 7th grade Volleyball Team competed at a tournament in Paxton today. The team took 1st place! They won in 2 sets against Paxton and 3 sets against Sutherland finishing 15-0 in the third. Way to go, O! We are proud of you!!

Last night at the OHS Homecoming Football Game the 2023 homecoming king and queen were crowned! Caden Rezac was crowned king and Emily VanBorkum was crowned queen. We are proud of you! ✨ #CultureOfConfidence

Students in Mr. Lowther's 7th-grade art class created these onomatopoeia pop-art pieces! The students took ownership of the project and the results show. Way to go! #CultureOfConfidence

A nail-biter until the end, but our OHS Indians came out on top!!! The team earned a 22-15 homecoming victory over the Sidney Red Raiders, capturing the district championship and securing their place in the playoffs! Next week, the team will travel to Holdrege to take on the Dusters in their last regular season game. Way to go, O! #CultureOfConfidence
