Welcome to the Ogallala Public Schools Safety Hub!

At Ogallala Public Schools, we understand that ensuring the safety and well-being of your child is of utmost importance to you. We share that commitment and strive to create a secure and nurturing environment for all our students. Our dedicated staff members undergo extensive training throughout the school year to ensure that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to keep your child safe.

We believe that preparation is key, which is why we provide our staff with a comprehensive range of training opportunities. These trainings cover a wide array of safety topics, including concussion awareness, bus evacuation procedures, suicide prevention, mental health awareness, bullying prevention, and emergency operations planning. By staying up-to-date on the latest safety protocols and best practices, our staff can respond effectively to any situation that may arise.

Concussions are taken seriously at Ogallala Public Schools, and our staff is trained to recognize the signs and symptoms of these injuries. In the event of a concussion, we have established protocols to ensure that your child receives the necessary care and support for their recovery.

The safety of our students extends beyond the classroom, which is why our staff is also trained in bus evacuation procedures. We prioritize the safe transportation of your child to and from school, and our staff is prepared to handle any emergency situation that may occur on a school bus.

We understand the importance of mental health and its impact on a child's well-being. Our staff undergoes training in suicide prevention and mental health awareness to identify signs of distress and provide appropriate support. We strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable seeking help when they need it.

Bullying prevention is a top priority at Ogallala Public Schools. Our staff is trained to recognize and address bullying behaviors promptly, fostering a culture of respect and kindness among our students. We work proactively to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all.

In addition, our emergency operations planning ensures that we are prepared for a wide range of emergencies, from severe weather events to other potential risks. We have established protocols in place to handle these situations swiftly and effectively, prioritizing the safety and well-being of our students at all times.

At Ogallala Public Schools, safety is embedded in our core values. We strive to provide parents like you with peace of mind, knowing that your child is receiving a well-rounded education in a secure and supportive environment. We are committed to ongoing training and improvement to ensure that we are prepared for any safety challenge that may arise.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education and safety. Together, we can make Ogallala Public Schools a place where every child thrives.
