Important Back-to-School Information 2025
School will start on Thursday, August 14. Listed below is all the important information that families need to know. We will continue to update this page as we draw closer to the first day of school!
Open House: Wednesday, August 13
Families can visit classrooms anytime from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Teachers will be available in their classrooms during this time.
Take advantage of this opportunity to see the buildings, visit classrooms, and meet teachers before the first day of school!
New-to-the District Parent Orientation & OHS Freshman: Tuesday, August 12
A parent night for families new to Ogallala Public Schools will be held on August 12.
5:00-5:30 Prairie View New Family Orientation in PV Gym
6:30-7:30 HS Frosh & New Student Orientation in Performing Arts Center (PAC) at OHS

School-day hours are:
Prairie View Elementary (PreK-5th Grade): 8:00 a.m. to 3:25 p.m.
Prairie View Middle School (6th-8th Grade): 8:00 a.m. to 3:25 p.m.
Ogallala High School (9th-12th Grade): 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Apply for Free & Reduced-Price Meals:
Ogallala Public Schools receives federal funding from the USDA National Breakfast, Lunch, and Snack Programs. In order to receive free or reduced-price meals, you must apply. Parents must fill out a new application EVERY YEAR, even if your student qualified for the program last year.

School supplies will be available to be picked up during the Prairie View Open House.

Activity tickets will be available to purchase starting August 15th at the Prairie View and Ogallala High School offices.
K-6th Grade Pass: $25
7th-12th Grade Pass: $40

Kids Oasis is a 21st Century Community Learning Center Program supported in part by Federal Funds Title IV - Part B Elementary & Secondary Education Act.
