OPSD is incredibly proud to share that Jim Ayres, OPSD School Board President, was honored as a Level VIII Recipient of the Awards of Achievement! We are so appreciative of all that Mr. Ayres has done and continues to do to help make OPSD a place for students to receive a world-class education! ▶The Nebraska Association of School Boards (NASB), Board of Directors, and staff, recognized the 2023 Awards of Achievement recipients during nine Area Meetings throughout August and September. ▶NASB is a private, nonprofit organization that serves the needs of board members in Nebraska public school districts and Educational Service Units. Nebraska’s 1,700 school board members may participate in board development training throughout the year by attending workshops and conferences to help strengthen their role in governance, legislative advocacy, and stewardship of district resources in support of student achievement. In recognition of their volunteer time and commitment to education, the Association recognizes continued participation and growth in best practice governance. ▶Through the Awards of Achievement program, there are ten total levels of achievement that carry over from year to year. 5th graders in Mrs. Hull's ELA class are working with their front-to-back partners to find the problems and solutions in their expository text. We love seeing our students engage with each other to deepen their understanding! #CultureOfConfidence

6th-grade students in Mr. Lowther's art class are creating positive primary paintings. We love the finished results! #CultureOfConfidence

Join us for the OHS Wrestling Fundraiser Tailgate! The tailgate will take place on October 13th, at the Homecoming Football Game, from 6:00 to halftime in the green shed. There will be chili, potato soup, & cinnamon rolls! The tailgate will be a free-will donation.

It was Ice Cream Challenge week in the ACT Study Skills Course. Congratulations to Avery Lowther, Tylee Wang, Reegan DeVries, and Evan Richter, who were the winners for correctly answering over 70% of the week's questions. Victory tastes sweet!! 🍦 #CultureOfConfidence

These Ogallala students participated in the 2022 Smokey the Bear Poster Contest, and were chosen as winners! We are so proud of two Prairie View students, McCoy Morken and Thomas Freiburg! We are so proud of you!

Our OG FB team is coming home with a fantastic win against the Chadron Cardinals! The Indians took the long trek up and made it well worth their time, coming home with a 22-14 victory. Way to go, O! Be sure to support our Indians next Friday night for their homecoming game as they take on the Sidney Red Raiders.
