High School Bowling Districts were in Lexington today and our OHS Bowling Squad left with some hardware! On the boys side Isaac Orth earned a medal for 10th place and Bradyn Heilman earned a medal for 4th place AND earned a trip to the State Championship next Monday! On the girls side Angel Martinez earned a medal for 9th place. The girls team also came home with the class B6 district runner up award! What a great day for our OHS Bowlers! The OHS Speech team competed at the Perkins County Speech Invitational last weekend and earned the Runner Up title! We love to see the smiling faces of these medalists! #CultureOfConfidence

Fifth-grade student Aubrey Hammond used her PBIS points to interview a special member of the school staff -Gibbs, the school therapy dog!  Gibbs appeared quite comfortable with the interview process, happily resting on her lap. #CultureOfConfidence

Middle school science students participated in a poster contest through the Southwest Department of Health promoting awareness of radon and its potential for harm. It is in fact the 2nd leading cause of lung cancer and it often goes undetected! Several students were finalists, and three of Ogallala’s own were the top 3 participants! Yesterday was a great day at home for the OHS bowlers! The team hosted Arapahoe at Cornhusker Lanes. There were lots of PRs for the season. Amaris 121, Liz 138, and Oliver 244! The boys went undefeated on our home lanes this season. Being a risk taker Liz sang the National Anthem before the meet started and did an excellent job! At the January OPSD School Board meeting, the board honored 3 model students and one dedicated educator!
