At the January OPSD School Board meeting, the board honored 3 model students and one dedicated educator! These students & staff have shown what it means to do things “The OG Way.” They are risk-takers in and out of the classroom, show grit in all they do, and take ownership of their learning. OMG Girls Wrestlers have been on the go! The team competed in Hemingford last Friday. They came home with multiple medalists! Kylie Cudaback placed 1st Aubrey Beaner placed 3rd Tessa Kirchner placed 2nd Samantha Tickle placed 2nd Cora Holm placed 3rd This Monday the team traveled to McCook. They left it all on the mat! Takedown Terror: Tessa Kirchner Awarded to the wrestler who relentlessly attempts takedowns throughout the week, demonstrating aggression and a determination to dominate their opponent. Mini Max: Kylie Cudaback Given to the wrestler who steps up as a leader, embodying the qualities of Coach Max by helping teammates, offering guidance, and consistently going above and beyond to support the team. A true "mini" (and possibly better) Coach Max! The Whiplash: Cora Holm Awarded to the wrestler who executes an incredibly fast takedown and transitions seamlessly into a pin, leaving everyone stunned by their speed and precision. The OHS Speech team traveled to Bridgeport for their meet on Saturday. They earned the Runner-Up title for the Class A/B division and two event champs! In addition to medalists, Alydia Wang placed 7th overall in Informative Speaking and Kanzah Arabi placed 8th overall in Serious Prose--great job, Freshmen! Our 5th-grade students are diving into the world of ukulele playing with Mrs. Ziola! Last week, they had a special guest appearance by none other than Dr. Russel! A few summers ago, Dr. Russel set a goal to spend 20 minutes a day mastering a new skill—and he chose the ukulele! Mrs. O'Neil's OHS Introduction to Athletic Training students are putting their knowledge into practice by learning how to tape turf toe—a vital technique to help protect and support our student-athletes. OHS Wrestling competed at the Chadron Wrestling Invitational on Friday and Saturday! Our boys showed incredible grit and determination. When it’s cold outside, Kindergarteners explore it in creative ways! Mrs. Fehr's kindergarten class dove into some hands-on Winter STEAM fun with exciting activities like shaving cream art and snowflake making! These young scientists and artists combined creativity and curiosity as they explored the wonders of winter through art and design. From swirling patterns to unique snowflakes, they’re learning that STEAM can be as magical as a snowy day! #CultureOfConfidence

OHS bowlers are on a roll (figuratively and literally)! Even though the team didn’t win the meet yesterday in Lexington there were lots of season high scores! Alana with a 130, Christan with a 138, Griffen with a 152, and Bradyn with a 212. Today we hosted Southern Valley and won the meet! Way to go, Bowling Indians!! #CultureOfConfidence
