OHS Volleyball is proud to join Gothenburg High School and its local hospital for their Pink Out Game on Monday, October 7th.

We encourage all OHS fans to show their support by wearing pink in the stands! Let’s pack the gym and cheer loudly for our girls while raising awareness for a great cause.

Prairie View School experienced a brief hold today due to a student’s medical need. As a reminder, a hold means students remain in their classrooms during the situation. The hold lasted less than five minutes, and all students are safe. Dismissal proceeded as usual.

Prairie View School is proud to announce the weekly Beanstack Reading Challenge winners! These kids have been OWNING the Beanstack Challenge and reading SO MUCH! Our grade level winners (listed below) racked up an impressive 3,381 minutes!!! Keep up the great work, Prairie View! Who will be the winner next week?! It could be YOU!

Boyd, a Prairie View 3rd grader, used his PBIS points in a special way! Boyd used his points to read to any PV Class. He chose to read to Mrs. Van Velson's kindergarten class, which happens to be the class his little sister is in! We are proud of you for being a leader, Boyd!! Keep up the great work!

OPSD is proud to be hosting the Ogallala Regional Arts Council's (ORAC) first performance of the 2025/26 season!

The performance will be on Sunday, September 28th at 4:00 p.m. in the OHS Performing Arts Center (PAC). The group performing is 'Young Original.'

NEBRASKA SMART IS A FREE VIRTUAL TUTORING PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES K-12.

HOW IT WORKS
Nebraska students in grades K-12 have free access to online tutoring with a qualified Tutor in English, math, science, and social
studies. Parents must first register their child. Once registered, students can request pre-scheduled appointments with a Tutor or log in and request on-demand tutoring to be connected with the next Tutor available in the queue. Students
should provide homework for which they wish to receive help or topics that they would like to cover.

Mrs. Waitley’s 3rd graders are busy being scientists! In science, they’re learning all about force and motion. Last week they became engineers of their own experiments. Students tested swings to see how weight and length affect the patterns of motion. Lots of predictions, observations, and discoveries were made as they worked hands-on to understand the science behind something as simple (and fun!) as a swing!

Mrs. Max, our OMS counselor, shared a thoughtful and interactive lesson on mental health with all middle school students. They explored strategies like grounding, healthy distractions, coping tools, and positive self-talk. Her care and compassion shine through in the way she connects with her students. We’re so grateful for you, Mrs. Max!

At the beginning of the year, Mrs. Waitley's 3rd-grade class read “How to Fill Your Bucket”. Mrs. Waitley posed a challenge to her students to be a bucket filler for 30 days. To complete the challenge, students had to write down how they filled a bucket each day. At the completion of the 30 days, they had to turn in their bucket-filling log. Raelynn OWNED this challenge and made our school and community a better place by being a bucket filler!
