This winter, middle-grades students all took on a MAP Growth Challenge! The grade level with the highest percentage of students meeting or exceeding their Fall-to-Winter growth goals earned a spin on the prize wheel for a special grade-level reward. 👏 A huge congratulations to our 7th graders, who had an impressive 66% of students reach or exceed their growth goals! Their reward? A BONUS 1:30 dismissal (and no, it won't be on a Friday!). We’re incredibly proud of ALL our middle-schoolers for their hard work and growth this season. We can’t wait to see what amazing things they’ll accomplish this spring! 🌟 #CultureOfConfidence

Mrs. Hesser's 2nd-grade students found a creative way to stay warm on a cold, snowy day—by making Stone Soup together! It was a delicious treat after a chilly recess! While preparing the soup, the class explored how communities work together to meet needs and cooperate. Afterward, the class read the story Stone Soup and discussed its theme of sharing and cooperation. What a fun way to connect learning with a warm, hearty treat! #CultureOfConfidence

At the December OPSD School Board meeting, the board honored 3 model students and one dedicated staff member! These students & staff have shown what it means to do things “The OG Way.” They are risk-takers in and out of the classroom, show grit in all they do, and take ownership of their learning. We are so proud of our December students of the month, Zuryiah Owens-Reed (elementary), Lily Goulding (middle grades), Tylee Wang (high school), and staff of the month, Tina Easter! Keep up the great work! We greatly appreciate our community sponsors for donating prizes for these individuals to honor their accomplishments! #GoBigO #OGIndians #TheOGWay #CultureOfConfidence
