Prairie View Ambassadors presented their idea to the Youth Inspired Philanthropy Contest! The group of students presented their idea of gifting each new student to Prairie View with a welcome bag full of goodies for them to use as they start their educational journey at Ogallala Public Schools. We are SO proud to announce that the Ambassadors earned the funds to kick off their project! Way to go, Ambassadors! #CultureOfConfidence

Ogallala Speech Team hosted the Ogallala Invite yesterday! The team placed 3rd out of the 22 teams that attended. The following students placed: Extemporaneous Speaking: Caleb Most 1st Informative: Caleb Most 2nd Poetry: Isabella Holthusen 7th, David Tyler 9th Program of Oral Interp. Isabel Rodriquez 2nd, Isabella Holthusen 4th Persuasive Speaking: 4th Serious Prose: Erica Hesser 4th Next Saturday Ogallala Speakers will go to North Platte to compete in the Best of the West tournament. Then they will go to the Southwest Conference tournament in Cozad on the 27th.

Mason & Trey built a robot to wheel their items on for "Bring Anything but a Backpack Day" at the high school. #CultureOfConfidence

Middle School Digital Literacy classes with Ms. Burgett have been coding and designing block-based programs such as Star Wars, Minecraft, and Dance Party on Code.org. Students have had fun exercising their critical thinking skills and creativity application through pair programming. In pair programming, one student is the "driver" writing code while the other is the "navigator" reviewing and providing guidance. Students switch roles often. #CultureOfConfidence

OHS Spanish Honor Society is working hard and showing grit to host the concession stand for the Ogallala Speech Meet today! The money raised will go toward scholarships for graduating seniors! #CultureOfConfidence

🤼‍♀️State Wrestling - Day 2 (Friday) Update🤼 Lake McClure lost her second match of the tournament. She showed grit and determination but came up short. Logan Stephens went 1-2 during the tournament and was defeated in the consolation round 2. Cole Stokey went 2-2, but was knocked out during the consolation round 3. We are so proud of our OHS Wrestlers and the incredible season they had!

Regular season play comes to a close with OHS Boys Basketball hosting Gothenburg. The varsity squad defeated the Swedes 67-42. The JV team battled hard, but fell short 46-52. It was a great night at Prairie View celebrating our seniors that have been dedicated teammates! OHS Boys will kick off subdistrict play this coming week! #CultureOfConfidence

Logan Stephens won his first match and lost his second. He will have a chance to wrestle back today starting in the 2nd round of consolations today. ✏️🖍📚Kindergarten Registration is open NOW at Prairie View School!📚🖍✏️ If your child will be 5 by July 31, 2023, they are old enough to attend Kindergarten for the 2023/24 school year. Come in Monday-Friday from 9 am-3 pm to register. Bring their State Certified Birth Certificate and current immunization records. Your child must be registered to participate in Kindergarten Round-Up, which will take place in April. Kindergarten Round-Up is a very important part of getting your child ready for Kindergarten! OPSD is excited to announce that John O'Neil will be Ogallala High School Principal for the 2023/24 school year! Mr. O'Neil has been a loyal member of OPSD for 17 years. We cannot wait to see all he will accomplish in this position! #CultureOfConfidence

The OHS Quiz Bowl team competed at the Gothenburg Invite yesterday! The team did awesome and went 3-1 in an exciting first competition of the season. #KnowledgeIsPower #brainsports

Ethan Skalsky and Zach Plasch, students in Mr. O'Neil's woods classes, built these awesome benches! Ethan's bench is made entirely from the bleacher boards removed from the high school gym. We love the finished product! #CultureOfConfidence

Shout out to Scooters Coffee for helping the PV Principals spread Love and appreciation to the Prairie View staff for Valentines Day!  Our PV staff enjoyed our their ‘Joe to Go’ this morning! ☕️

Ogallala Girls Basketball played a hard fought battle in the first round of subdistrict play. Unfortunately the team came up short in OT, 44-51. This team displayed GRIT and dedication throughout the entirety of their season. We are proud of you!
