Students from the OHS FFA chapter visited our 1st-grade classes and completed a follow-up to their lesson taught earlier in the year. Students had the opportunity to name some of their favorite foods, color a picture of the food, and sort the foods into bowls by whether they came from a plant, an animal, or both! They also learned about how agriculture helps to create some of their favorite things! #CultureOfConfidence

At the February OPSD School Board meeting, the board honored 3 model students and one dedicated educator! These students & staff have shown what it means to do things “The OG Way.” They are risk-takers in and out of the classroom, show grit in all they do, and take ownership of their learning. We are so proud of our February students of the month, Collins Cone (elementary), Avery Hull (middle grades), Samantha Pacheco (high school), and teacher of the month, Tracy Cone! Mrs. Waitley's 3rd grade class hosted a special guest! Mrs. Waitley's Caden came and shared about his deployment in the Horn of Africa. The students had the opportunity to ask questions, learn about our armed forces, and even participate in a push-up contest. Mr. Austin's 7th-grade math class applied their knowledge to real-world examples! The students measured his room, including the walls, desks, and cabinets. To deepen their understanding they made a drawing, to scale, of it on graph paper! #CultureOfConfidence

OG Boys Basketball for the WIN! The team took on Conestoga High School for the district championship game. The team will head to Lincoln to compete in the state tournament. Way to go, O! #CultureOfConfidence

First-grade students applied their learning on how to measure using non-standard units by measuring stick figures with centimeter cubes and sticks. This skill also demonstrated their knowledge of tens and ones as they had to count how many centimeter sticks (groups of ten) and cubes (ones) to find the total measurement. We love this hands-on learning! #CultureOfConfidence

Did you know that all students at Prairie View Elementary get a free fresh fruit or vegetable snack four times a week?! Thanks to the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, students have tried kiwi, radishes, and bell pepper this month.🍓🍊🍌🥝🫑 #FFVP

Ms. Wilson and Mrs. Peck's Executive Functioning Skills class created a Valentine's Day self-love heart! Students found 4 or 5 words that described how they felt about themselves and put them in their hearts. The students took the opportunity to reflect on what makes them GREAT! We love seeing our students practice self-love at such an early age!
