Whew! March was a very busy month at Kids Oasis. Local artist, Breanna Benton, was there to finish up the gym murals, and the OHS Spanish Honor Society started their classes to teach espanol. Students participated in community appreciation, where five officers from the Ogallala Police Department came to educate the students on their jobs, how they help, and how we can stay safe. Students went bowling, and even had an easter egg hunt! Can you imagine the fun that will be had this summer? There has been a great response for summer sign-up, so hurry and get those enrollment forms in, spots fill quickly! #CultureOfConfidence

Students in Mrs. Lee's 7th grade ELA classes have been practicing how to write argumentative essays. This week, each group wrote a different argument based on the scenario and task card they were given. The writings were posted around the room in "blog" form. Students then walked around the room and wrote feedback on sticky notes. Each group used that feedback to strengthen their final argument essay. Their ability to work collaboratively was awesome! #CultureOfConfidence

At the March OPSD School Board meeting, the board honored 3 model students and one dedicated educator! These students & staff have shown what it means to do things “The OG Way.” They are risk-takers in and out of the classroom, show grit in all they do, and take ownership of their learning. We are so proud of our March students of the month, Jaxson Bassett (elementary), RaeLynn Apostol (middle grades), Erica Hesser (high school), and teacher of the month, Michael Schlake! Keep up the great work! We greatly appreciate our community sponsors for donating prizes for these individuals to honor their accomplishments! #GoBigO #OGIndians #TheOGWay #CultureOfConfidence
