The OHS Speech team traveled to Bridgeport for their meet on Saturday. They earned the Runner-Up title for the Class A/B division and two event champs! In addition to medalists, Alydia Wang placed 7th overall in Informative Speaking and Kanzah Arabi placed 8th overall in Serious Prose--great job, Freshmen! Our 5th-grade students are diving into the world of ukulele playing with Mrs. Ziola! Last week, they had a special guest appearance by none other than Dr. Russel! A few summers ago, Dr. Russel set a goal to spend 20 minutes a day mastering a new skill—and he chose the ukulele! His visit was not only a fun musical lesson but also an inspiring reminder of the power of grit and dedication to achieving your goals. #CultureOfConfidence

Mrs. O'Neil's OHS Introduction to Athletic Training students are putting their knowledge into practice by learning how to tape turf toe—a vital technique to help protect and support our student-athletes. OHS Wrestling competed at the Chadron Wrestling Invitational on Friday and Saturday! Our boys showed incredible grit and determination. OPSD is excited to announce that Abigail Fehr will be Prairie View Assistant Principal for the 2025/26 school year! When it’s cold outside, Kindergarteners explore it in creative ways! Mrs. Fehr's kindergarten class dove into some hands-on Winter STEAM fun with exciting activities like shaving cream art and snowflake making! These young scientists and artists combined creativity and curiosity as they explored the wonders of winter through art and design. From swirling patterns to unique snowflakes, they’re learning that STEAM can be as magical as a snowy day! #CultureOfConfidence

OHS and OPSD are thrilled to honor our very own Mrs. Jennifer Jones, recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)! This award is the highest national recognition a K-12 math or science teacher can receive in the United States. Established by Congress in 1983, the PAEMST celebrates educators who have made a significant impact on their students, schools, and communities through innovative teaching and dedication to excellence. Mrs. Jones has gone above and beyond to inspire a love for learning, fostering critical thinking and curiosity in her students. OHS bowlers are on a roll (figuratively and literally)! Even though the team didn’t win the meet yesterday in Lexington there were lots of season high scores! Alana with a 130, Christan with a 138, Griffen with a 152, and Bradyn with a 212. Today we hosted Southern Valley and won the meet! Way to go, Bowling Indians!! #CultureOfConfidence

OMG Girls Wrestling traveled to Gering for their first meet! The team showed incredible grit and resilience! Match of the Week - Lilly Goulding For the wrestler who has the most exciting or hard-fought match. Best Mat Hair - Rose Davis For the wrestler who comes out of every match with the wildest hair. Iron Woman Award - Kenadi Austin Embodies toughness, resilience, and consistency—someone who shows up ready to work everyday powers through challenges, and gives their absolute best effort in both practice and competition.
