Our 5th-grade students are diving into the world of ukulele playing with Mrs. Ziola! Last week, they had a special guest appearance by none other than Dr. Russel! A few summers ago, Dr. Russel set a goal to spend 20 minutes a day mastering a new skill—and he chose the ukulele! His visit was not only a fun musical lesson but also an inspiring reminder of the power of grit and dedication to achieving your goals. #CultureOfConfidence

OHS and OPSD are thrilled to honor our very own Mrs. Jennifer Jones, recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)! This award is the highest national recognition a K-12 math or science teacher can receive in the United States. Established by Congress in 1983, the PAEMST celebrates educators who have made a significant impact on their students, schools, and communities through innovative teaching and dedication to excellence. Mrs. Jones has gone above and beyond to inspire a love for learning, fostering critical thinking and curiosity in her students. Her hard work and passion are shaping the future of STEM education, and we couldn’t be prouder to have her as part of our staff at OPSD! Join us in celebrating this incredible achievement!
