🐰🥚 OG NATION, LET US “EGG” YOUR YARD! 🥚🐰

Skip the late-night egg hiding and wake up to some Easter magic! The OHS Cheerleaders are bringing the fun straight to your doorstep!

On Saturday, April 4th, our cheerleaders will come to your house and hide candy- and prize-filled eggs in your yard for your kids (or grandkids, friends, neighbors… anyone!). We’ll start egging yards at 5:30 PM and go throughout the evening.

Choose your egg package:
• 30 eggs – $30
• 50 eggs – $50
• 100 eggs – $80

Just leave your porch light on so we know where to hop!

📅 Order deadline: April 1st
💵 Payment: Cash or check (made out to OHS Cheer)

Behind every big moment, every buzzer-beater, and every home game win… there’s a crew making it all happen!

Our table crew showed up ALL season long. Running the scoreboard, hitting the buzzer, managing the book, controlling the screens, and keeping everything running smoothly from start to finish. No spotlight, no stats, just consistency, focus, and pride in doing it right every single game.

Thank you for the long nights, the attention to detail, and the role you play in making our game day experience the best around. We see you, and we appreciate you!

OPSD Calendar Update

We have a few of important calendar changes to share as we head into the spring season!

🏃 Thursday, April 2 - NO SCHOOL for Students
OPSD will host the Ed Moore Track Invitational that day. To help support the meet, staff will have a teacher work day, and there will be no school for students.

📚 Tuesday, May 12 - SCHOOL WILL BE IN SESSION
Because OPSD will not host district track this year, May 12 will now be a regular school day for students instead of the previously scheduled teacher work day.

Please take a moment to update your calendars. As always, thank you for supporting our students, staff, and the many events that make OG Nation such a special place to be!

Our 3rd and 4th-grade HAL students recently took part in a hands-on simulation to see how quickly diseases can spread. One student started as the “carrier,” and after just four rounds of interacting with one person each time, 14 out of 16 students were “infected.”

After the activity, students worked together to trace the spread back and identify patient zero. This investigation helped them understand how diseases move through communities, how scientists track outbreaks, and why simple habits like washing our hands make such a big difference.

Science, critical thinking, and real-world learning all in one lesson! 🧪🧼

Four more weeks of Prairie View Beanstack winners, and our readers are still going strong!

The next two weeks, Mrs. Max will select two winners from every class:
• The top reader with the most minutes logged
• One random student who logged their reading time

That means everyone who logs minutes has a chance to win!

With spring break and long weekends coming up, it is the perfect time to keep the reading streak alive. Whether it is a chapter book, a graphic novel, or a bedtime story, every minute counts. Keep logging those minutes in Beanstack, and you might be our next winner.

Let’s keep turning pages, OG readers!
