This Saturday at 1:00 PM, your Lady Indians take the court with a trip to STATE on the line!
If the Lady Indians win on Saturday, Ogallala Public Schools will not be in session on Wednesday, November 5th, for the first round of the State Tournament.
Should our girls advance past the first round, OPS will also cancel school on Thursday, November 6th, and Friday, November 7t,h so that all of OG Nation can cheer them on!
If the Lady Indians’ season ends on Wednesday, school will resume as normal on Thursday and Friday.
Kids Oasis will not be in session when there is no school in session.
We’ll share updates as soon as information becomes available. Updates will be posted in Rooms, on social media, and sent out through texts, calls, and emails. Please keep an eye on your inbox for further communication!
FAQs:
Why cancel school?
With an exclusively team competition such as volleyball, football, and basketball, we have the most students participating and spectators attending. We also have band, cheer, and dance teams invited to perform at these activities. With the number of students and staff attending it makes it difficult to have a productive school day. We do our best to support all activities & we do encourage students to attend these functions.
Send your name, address, and maiden name (if applicable) to ogallalaalumni@opsd.org
to stay connected.
This project, led by OHS juniors and seniors with Kate Diaz, is all about bringing our community together through service and connection.
Let’s Reconnect. Remember. Rebuild.
Stay tuned for exciting news about an all-class reunion!

At the October OPSD School Board meeting, the board honored 3 model students and one dedicated educator! These students & staff have shown what it means to do things “The OG Way.” They are risk-takers in and out of the classroom, show grit in all they do, and take ownership of their learning. We are so proud of our October students of the month, Abel Wieseler (elementary), Jessa Curtis (middle grades), Jalie Barnhill (high school), and staff member of the month, Melissa Veith! Keep up the great work! We greatly appreciate our community sponsors for donating prizes for these individuals to honor their accomplishments! #GoBigO #OGIndians #TheOGWay #CultureOfConfidence
