Boyd, a Prairie View 3rd grader, used his PBIS points in a special way! Boyd used his points to read to any PV Class. Nebraska students in grades K-12 have free access to online tutoring with a qualified Tutor in English, math, science, and social

Mrs. Waitley’s 3rd graders are busy being scientists! In science, they’re learning all about force and motion. Last week they became engineers of their own experiments. Students tested swings to see how weight and length affect the patterns of motion. Lots of predictions, observations, and discoveries were made as they worked hands-on to understand the science behind something as simple (and fun!) as a swing!
Mrs. Max, our OMS counselor, shared a thoughtful and interactive lesson on mental health with all middle school students. They explored strategies like grounding, healthy distractions, coping tools, and positive self-talk. Her care and compassion shine through in the way she connects with her students. We’re so grateful for you, Mrs. Max!

At the beginning of the year, Mrs. Waitley's 3rd-grade class read “How to Fill Your Bucket”. Mrs. Waitley posed a challenge to her students to be a bucket filler for 30 days. To complete the challenge, students had to write down how they filled a bucket each day. At the completion of the 30 days, they had to turn in their bucket-filling log. Raelynn OWNED this challenge and made our school and community a better place by being a bucket filler!

At the September OPSD School Board meeting, the board honored 3 model students and one dedicated educator! These students & staff have shown what it means to do things “The OG Way.” They are risk-takers in and out of the classroom, show grit in all they do, and take ownership of their learning. A huge thank you to the OHS Impact Tribe for helping with the Rendezvous 4th grade School Day. The group helped guided over a 150 students from Ogallala and 5 other towns through the historic Boot Hill, Mansion on the Hill, Little School House, and the Little Cabin. They did an outstanding job educating, managing, and leading the tours!
