OG Nation,

We’ve got some exciting action coming to Ogallala next week! On Monday, October 27th, Prairie View School will dismiss early at 11:30 AM as we proudly host Sub-District Volleyball.

Please note: No lunch will be served at Prairie View on this day. Prairie View busing will run as usual. Below you’ll find answers to a few common questions about the early release and state volleyball schedule.

Why are we releasing at 11:30?
The first round of games begins at 1:00 PM at Prairie View, and we expect the parking lot and surrounding streets to be completely full. Releasing early will make it much easier and safer for families to pick up students before the crowds arrive.
Additionally, with hundreds of guests on campus for the tournament, this plan helps maintain a secure environment for our students and staff.

Will there be Kids Oasis?
Yes! Kids Oasis will operate from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM and will serve lunch for those attending.
If you plan for your child to attend, please contact Karrie Curtis, Kids Oasis Director, to reserve a spot.

What about the High School?
The high school will follow a normal schedule on Monday.
However, please note there will be no after-school busing for high school students that day.

Why are we just hearing about this?
Sub-district schedules were officially released this morning, so we wanted to get the information out to you as soon as possible.

Will there be an early release on Tuesday, too?
No. Tuesday’s games begin later in the day and will not impact the regular school schedule.

If the Lady Indians advance to State…
District finals are set for Saturday, November 1st. Should our team punch their ticket to state, we’ll communicate any schedule adjustments for the following week shortly after the conclusion of the finals.

Thank you for your flexibility and continued support of our student-athletes. Let’s pack the gym, show our pride, and cheer loud for our Lady Indians!

Way to go, OMS Middle School Students!

Our amazing 6th-8th graders are showing what it means to Earn the O by building a true Culture of Confidence. These students had no missing assignments for the 1st Quarter! That’s commitment, responsibility, and pride in their learning.

We are so proud of these hardworking students for stepping up and setting the bar high. Keep up the great work!!!

As Mrs. Waitley was getting her garden ready for the cool weather, she discovered a very unique carrot! Knowing her 3rd-grade class would appreciate its funny shape, she brought it in to share. After reading Creepy Carrots together, each student came up with a creative name for the carrot. The class voted, and Cora’s name, “Bob,” was the winner! Cora got to take Bob home to share with her family. 🥕
