Mr. Simmerman's Algebra students had the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful weather while staying actively engaged in their lesson on the Distance Formula. Learning outside provided a refreshing change of scenery, but students remained focused as they applied their math skills in a hands-on and interactive way! #CultureOfConfidence

OHS Speech Team had an incredibly successful showing at NSAA State Speech! The team came home with 3 medalists: Michael Tophoj & Lillian Holthusen placed 3rd in Duet, Carson Roland placed 3rd in Informative, and Michael Tophoj placed 6th in Program of Oral Interpretation. We are so proud of all of our State competitors! Go Big O!

OHS Girls 4X400 relay team breaks the school record by .5 seconds today at the Sidney Track Invitational! Great job Story, Shaydyn, Haidyn, and Aniston! We are so proud of you! #CultureOfConfidence

Cucumber slices: a refreshing snack and a spa day essential! 🥒 Thanks to the USDA Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, our students get to enjoy healthy and delicious treats—sometimes with a little extra creativity! #CultureOfConfidence

Last week Prairie View Middle School Students had the opportunity to attend the 2025 Expanding Your Horizons in Math & Science Conference at Mid-Plains Community College! The students had the opportunity to explore career options in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology fields. Students had the opportunity to meet people who are involved in challenging, yet rewarding, careers. We love that our students had the opportunity to engage in this awesome STEM-centered day! #CultureOfConfidence

🐣 OHS Cheerleaders - Egg Your Yard🐣 The OHS Cheerleaders will come to your house on the evening of Saturday, April 19th to spread eggs filled with assorted candies and prizes. Place orders for kids, grandchildren, neighbors, etc. There's fun for everyone! At the March OPSD School Board meeting, the board honored 3 model students and one dedicated educator! These students & staff have shown what it means to do things “The OG Way.” They are risk-takers in and out of the classroom, show grit in all they do, and take ownership of their learning. We are so proud of our March students of the month, Lillie Mungia (elementary), Braulio Merida Gonzalez (middle grades), Lillian Holthusen (high school), and staff member of the month, Wes Schmer! Prairie View PTO and the OMG Student Council are hosting their annual spring dance, 'Moonlight Masquerade' on Friday, April 4th from 6:00-8:30 p.m. The dance will take place in the Prairie View Commons area. It is open to students who attend Prairie View and are in grades 6-8. There will be a $5 admission fee. Concessions will be available for purchase. Questions? OPSD is excited to announce that Daniel 'Dano' Stokey will be OPSD Activities Director/OHS Assistant Principal for the 2025/26 school year! Mr. Stokey has been a loyal educator and coach at OPSD for the last 16 years. We cannot wait to see all he will accomplish in this position! #CultureOfConfidence
