6019 Communication with Parents

Effective communication between home and school is crucial to students’ educational success. Both teachers and parents must work to communicate frequently about students’ progress. Methods of communication include, but are not limited to, parent-teacher conferences, e-mail, telephone contact, and school visitation by parents. Teachers must notify parents about unsatisfactory student work promptly and prior to the end of a grading period.

The school calendar will provide opportunities for formal parent-teacher conferences. The conferences need not be limited to these days; they should be scheduled at times that will allow adequate time for an effective conference.
