Individual Results

#1 Singles:  Maddie Herman  2-3,  6th place

def by Sarah Sinsel, Holdrege,  3-8

def Codi Guerrieri, North Platte,  8-1

def Rachel Hancock, Scottsbluff,  8-1

def by Faith Kowalski, Kearney,  0-8

def by Morgan Eihusen, Grand Island,  6-8

Maddie played well today despite a 45 min rain delay and the cold, damp conditions. She was very aggressive and attacked the net.  In tennis, the score doesn’t always reflect the high level of play.  Maddie took her opponents to deuce many times in the matches she didn’t win.

#2 Singles:  Annie Cleveland 0-5

def by Hannah Nelson, North Platte,  6-8

def by Sarah Woodward, Scottsbluff,  1-8

def by Allison Sheen, Kearney,  1-8

def by Kate Keffeler, Holdrege,  0-8

def by Alivia Carlson,  Alliance,  6-8

This was the first meet that Annie has played singles. It is very different going from playing doubles with a partner to playing solo.  She hung in there with most of her opponents. She did some really good things that show promise for the rest of the season.

#1 Doubles:  Kacey Jaeger and Kira Mestl  2-3

def by Jordynn Simpson and Tea Guerra, North Platte,  4-8

def Moriah Wyre and Alisha Huynh, Scottsbluff,  8-4

def by Julia Bauer and Danielle Chally, Kearney,  4-8

def by Makenzie Wells and Kam Smith,  Holdrege,  2-8

def Brooke Speer and Theresa Aguirre, Lexington,  8-4

Kacey and Kira had a tough day on the court.  Shots that they usually get to fall in bounds didn’t and shots that are usually routine for them, weren’t today.  There is no doubt they will bounce back and play like they normally do at the next meet.

#2 Doubles:  Lily Fair and Maddie Mendoza  3-2,  4th place

def Tieesha Alsides and Brooke DeSha, Scottsbluff,  8-3

def by Taylin Copp and Kendra Sears, Kearney,  2-8

def Alexis Olson and Jacey Jons, Holdrege,  9-8 (7-4)

def Kylie Engelman and Maddie Custer, North Platte,  8-0

def by Danielle Lindeman and Jordan Hagan, Lexington,  3-8

Lily and Maddie played very well today.  This is the first meet they have been able to play doubles together due to injuries.  They attacked the net and played the back court well.  We are so proud of them placing fourth in this tough tourney.  We are looking forward to seeing them just get better as the season goes on.
