All the girls played well today.  It is essential to get more court time and experience against competition this early in the season.  We saw some good things and but also saw things we need to work more on. This also helps us focus our practices to address those weaknesses. These girls got both doubles and singles experience which will help them all further develop their skills.  The rest of our season is mostly tournaments where everyone plays a certain position – you either play singles or you play doubles, but not both.  We are still up in the air about the #2 singles position, so today was a good opportunity to see all of them in singles competition.

We are so proud of our JV girls.  This was the very first competition for most of these girls and they did themselves proud! We saw a lot of good things, and we saw some not-so-good things, but this is typical of first time matches.  They have lots of nerves that need to get worked out so they can settle down and play.  We will get back to practice where we can work on those skills that need more refining. We are looking forward to seeing them develop throughout the season.
