The Lady Indians Start the Season With Resounding Wins

The Lady Indians Start the Season With Resounding Wins

By Jade Max and Belle Scheele

The Lady Indian Volleyball team kicked off the 2016 season playing Sidney at home. They took down the Sidney Raiders in two sets in the O Zone. The same night at home, the Lady Indians faced the North Platte Bulldogs taking them down in two sets as well.  The Sidney/North Platte triangular is always a tough hurdle, and our girls made quick work of this opener to get their season rolling.

Here are some stats from the Lady Indian and Sidney Raiders game. The Lady Indians had 22 kills, 3 ace serves, 8 blocks, 34 defensive saves, and 35 successful service receives against the Lady Raiders.

Against the Bulldogs, they handily recorded 29 kills, 7 ace serves, 2 blocks, 45 defensive saves, and 39 successful service receives.

The Lady Indians continued their season with another victory in McCook on Tuesday, September 6th and travelled to Cozad on Saturday, September 10 where they took on some great teams at the invitational.

The Lady Indians took down Ainsworth in two sets, Gothenburg in two sets, and Sidney in three in the championship game.Their winning streak rolls on at 6-0 and will continue to work hard for the rest of the season, including a home game against North Platte on Tuesday, September 13.

We hope the best season to all of the Indian volleyball players and have our fingers crossed for another trip to the state tournament in Lincoln.
