I believe that all people should enjoy a quality of life which includes mental and physical health, as well as enjoyable interactions with others. I believe a sound program of physical education for the school-aged individual can greatly assist in achieving this quality of life. My first goal as a physical education teacher is to provide a fun and interactive environment where learning can take place. Being in a positive classroom enables students to challenge one another while gaining self-acceptance of one's strengths and weaknesses. The second goal I believe to be important is to help children gain knowledge about, and appreciation for a healthy lifestyle. Information relative to personal habits, hygiene, keeping fit, and absence from disease, will provide students the opportunity to see the joys of life a healthy body can provide. The last goal I have is to instill a system which will teach students how to interact, communicate, and respect others. By applying such high standards, students will learn appropriate social interactions through health and sport. By striving to accomplish my goals, I believe that students will gain an appreciation for a lifetime of health and fitness.
