The Middle School band will perform for the public on Thursday, February 23rd at 7:00 PM in the HS Lecture Hall and the High School concert will be on on Tuesday, February 28th, also at 7:00 PM in the HS Lecture Hall.

The struggling Ogallala Boys Basketball team will take on 14-5 Hershey in the first C-11 subdistrict game on Tuesday night n Lexington at 5:30 CT. Ogallala, 4-16, lost at home to the Panthers back in December by 16 points.
The game's winner will advance to the finals on Thursday night in Lexington.

Michael Gill won his last two matches in the Class B State Wrestling Tournament in Omaha to close out his wrestling career with a third place medal at 220 lbs. Gill pinned his final two opponents, Jose Muniz and Ehren Schwarz, in 1:45 and 2:49 respectively.

Tyson Lanka took the fifth place medal with his win over Taylor McAllister. He won his first match on Thursday in a major decision, 13-5, but lost to Jake Brown in a 4-0 decision. Lanka wrestled his way back through the Consolation bracket, picking up two wins, a major 8-0 decision and a 3-2 decision, but then lost in a major decision, 9-1, to eventual 3rd place finisher Colby Riesen to be sent to the 5th place match. During the first rounds of the tournament, Gill picked up two solid wins by decision (8-1, 9-3), before a loss to Remmington Williams in Double Overtime sent him to the Consolation bracket. |
The Lady Indian Basketball team lost to Hershey 51-30 in the semifinal round of the C11-subdistrict on Tuesday night in Lexington. Hershey (16-6) was the top seed in the subdistrict.
Ogallala finishes the season with a 6-16 record and the young team looks to improve next year. The girls' defense improved remarkably towards the end of the year, as did turnovers and shot selection. After winning 2 of their last 3 games, the returning Lady Indians may have turned a corner.

Ogallala won their first round game of the C11 subdistricts in Chase County on Monday night. The team relied on a stingy defense to take a 12 point halftime lead and then kept a double-digit lead for the rest of the game.
The Lady Indians now travel to Lexington tonight to play Hershey. A strong 15-6 team, the Panthers are on the verge of being state-ranked and won the teams' last contest by 20 points. That was back in mid-December, however. Ogallala has won two of their last three games and Hershey lost last week to C2 North Platte St. Pats.
It's tourney time. Anything can happen.
